Vineet Virmani (ex 260-J Class of 1957 - DSOBS President 1980 to 1982) passed away on 12 July 2008 .
A prayer meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th July from 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.at Chinmay Mission, 89 Lodi Road, New Delhi.
Ashok Sapra (batch of 1961) passed away , after a brief illness, in hospital on Wednesday the 11th of June. His funeral was on the 12th forenoon at Lodi crematorium. The community extends its heartfelt condolences to Vijit and his entire family.
Vikram Raha, 190T batch of 1971, passed away after a prolonged illness on Sunday, 18 May 2008, at his home in Kolkata.

Anju Malwah 1-H 1964-1970 daughter of late Mr S.L Sharma (ex Housemaster H House) and sister of Kailash 273-K, Suresh 245-K, Sheel 345-K passed away on April 20, 2008 in Los Altos Hills, California after bravely battling Cancer for over 5 years.

The old boy community was deeply saddened to learn of the passing away in the early morning hours of Tuesday the 21st of August 2007 in Hyderabad of Mr. Krishna Kumar Pillai (Sunny Pillai) (250-J, '47), father of Vijit Krishna Pillai, (250-J ’74). Colonel Eric Joseph Simeon (1918-2007) – Officer, gentleman and educationist, passed away in New Delhi on the 15th of May 2007 in his 89th year. He is deeply mourned by his extended family of relatives, colleagues and students of the Corps of Signals; Sainik School Kunjpura; La Martiniere School for Boys, Kolkata; The Doon School, Dehra Dun; and the Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai.
Col. Simeon was Headmaster at Doon School from 1971 to 1979. With Colonel Simeon’s passing, The Doon School has now lost all Headmasters from 1935 to 1979. We at the DSOBS extend our heartfelt condolences to his son, Dilip and join him in praying that his soul finds everlasting peace.
This is to inform you that Col. C R Subia (212-J '50) passed away on March 24th, 2007 in Jamshedpur. He had suffered a stroke and was in coma for several days. His funeral was held in Jamshedpur on March 25th, 2007. The community extends its condolences to his family and friends.

My younger brother, Manohar (Mantu), passed away on December 9, 2006 after suffering for more than six months from cancer. He fought the agonies of the dread disease with great courage. Mantu had a brilliant academic career at Welham School & thereafter at the Doon. His report after the December 1944 Trials carried the following comment from Mr. Foot, the Headmaster.

Aditya Lall (538-HA '01) passed away in a tragic road accident in New Delhi on Saturday, 30 December 2006. Aditya is survived by his mother, Seema, and brother, Rohit Lall (339-HA '99) and is the son of the late Dilip Lall (281-H '68).
Deelip Surve (69-H '58) passed away on 1/10/2006. He is survived by my mother Mrs Fawzia Surve ( Ph+91-22-26414839) and his children Maiaasa and Imraan Surve.
Ashok "Chicky" Ranganathan (33-T '51) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19th, 2006 in New Delhi. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held on 30th December 2006 between 3.45 and 5.00 p.m. at the first floor, Chinmaya Mission Auditorium at 85 Lodhi Road for all those who knew and loved him.

The memorial meeting for Lt. General Adi Sethna (retd.) PVSM, AVSM - (191-K '39) who passed away recently.will be held at 6 pm on Saturday, November 11th. It will tke place at the hall of the Anjuman near Delhi Gate, next to the Ambedkar Stadium.
Lt General Adi Sethna (191-K '41), a member of the Minorities Commission, who was active in many walks of life, died today in Delhi after a brief illness. Sethna, who was 81, is survived by his wife, Khorshed and four daughters — Nilofer, Roxana, Shernaz and Shirene. He was buried today at the Parsi burial ground with the Army conducting the requiem. Mr. RK Chettur passed away on August 28th, 2006. He was the Chairman of The National Textile Corporation of India and also did training programs for underprivileged children. He is survived by his wife Usha and two sons Vivek and Anand. Doon Online offers its condolences to the family.
Well-known industrialist and philanthropist, M.Ct. Muthiah (114-H '47), died in Chennai early on Monday. He was 76.
His grandfather, Sir M.Ct. Muthiah Chettiar, was the founder of the United India Life Insurance Company. His father M.Ct.M. Chidambaram Chettiar was the founder of the Indian Overseas Bank, the United India Fire and General Insurance Company and Travancore Rayons, India's first rayon fibre company.

Mrs.Prakashvati Gupta (wife of MR. K.C. Gupta, ex. Head of the Chemistry Department, Housmaster Jaipur A) passed away peacefully on May 31st, 2006 in Los Altos Hills, California. She leaves beind daughter, Neerja Gupta Raman (99-J '64) and family; daughter Kalpana Gupta Shyam (186-JA '72) and family; and grandson Mayank Jain (573-JB '88), Son of Late Anjana Gupta Jain (284-J '63) and family.
Mrs. Gupta was a cheerful presence on the school campus from the late '50s through 1980 as many old boys from those times will remember. She was an active member of the Doon school Ladies club which was involved in community service and an annual fete at the school. She spent her golden years happily with her children and grandchildren with many fond memories of Doon School.
Chandrashekhar Singh (Ex-666 KA '95 Batch) paased away on the 22nd of March in a tragic car accident. He was known as Chandu by those who knew him well in Doon.

He passed away on 5th December, 2005 in Budapest. Sunil is survived by his wife Melissa, son Raoul, daughter-in-law Catherine and daughter Tamara. Dr. P.M. Das (298-H '69) tragically passed away on Saturday, September 24th, while leading a National Level Expedition to a high mountain in North Sikkim along the Chinese border. He perished along with five other expedition members in an avalanche in treacherous terrain.
He was the Additional Director General of Police, Computerisation and Telecommunications, Punjab Police Headquarters, Chandigarh at the time.
