1. Location is everything with a Dosco get-together. Organize the event in a central location which has easy public transportation access. 2. Understand the profile of your invitees. Some cities have a disproportionate representation of certain batches and decades. Understand the profile and make sure that you include at least a few doscos from those batches in the planning committee. 3. Leverage the online meduim to organize the get-together. Use Doon Online and DSOBS.org to promote the event and to encourage others to attend. Services like Evite also make things easier. 4.Don't hold get-togethers too frequently. Doscos typically like to attend events 3-4 times a year. If you hold events more frequently, you will find much fewer doscos attending. 5. Broaden the Focus. If there aren't many doscos in your city, you may want to consider partnering with another alumni association when you organize the event. The number of attendees will double and the event will be more interesting. 6. Ask your representatives for help. Your DSOBS class and city representatives can spread the word about the event and help you organize it. Leverage them! |
