This is not in any order but it is something to put out for those who didn't know him
He spent his last few years at Berkhamstead. After his retirement as geography master of a local school he lived alone and was adept at the internet but golf escaped him somewhat though he did take me for a round when I was there.
He suffered from prostrate cancer and I could talk in graphic details ( thanks to his time spent on the net) about his illness. He had a great sense of humour and a great love for Doon and India especially Indian food like dal and chicken curry. I convinced him to attend Founders in 98 which he did though he was a little lost as age and health were not on his side. He was in and out of hospital and finally passed away on the 11th of Dec 99.
The Class of '71 remember him quite vividly - he was there throughout our school tenure being responsible for dividing the houses, introducing the CDH and other similarly radical decisions. He was a lively, pipesmoking headmaster whose Hillman was as prominent as the twinkle in his eye. He taught geography from basics and some of us will still remember "WAREORDDOIROF"- whether a river erodes or deposits depends on its rate of flow. He never lost his sense of humour even though he had a tough time keeping the other masters (who had grown and resented the Englishmen) in check.
Peter Mukherji (17-H) of Star TV fame lodged with him when he went to England after school and Mr. Miller was really hospitable ( even with his limited means) to everyone who met him. He drove us around to his college at Oxford during the summer of 1998 and was full of his wicked antics which he had picked up fm his years at Doon and as a teacher. He had a great zest for life and a razor sharp mind till the very end.
