Congress to field Jyotiraditya

GWALIOR, DEC. 1. The son of the late Congress leader, Madhavrao Scindia, will be fielded as the party candidate in the byelection to the Guna Parliamentary Constituency of his father, the Congress general secretary, Mr.Ghulam Nabi Azad, said today.

``Mr. Jyotiraditya has already been in the Congress-fold. He will be given the Congress ticket in the bypoll,'' Mr. Azad who made a brief stopover here on his way to Delhi with the party chief Ms. Sonia Gandhi told a group of Congress leaders at the airport, well placed party sources said.

The sources added that Mr. Azad had asked local party leaders to camp in Guna and start preparations for the byelections to the Guna Parliamentary seat, which fell vacant following the death of Madhavrao Scindia in a plane crash.
